Info
Nimble Technology was founded in June 1999 as a result of a five-year research project in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington. The founders-XML expert Alon Halevy, technology entrepreneur Daniel Weld, and Internet executive Linden Rhoads-recognized the potential of XML (Extensible Markup Language) as a core technology for solving complex data integration problems. They set out to develop an XML-based data integration platform that could query disparate data sources and return a unified result. Nimble Technology quickly took shape, as the founders recruited a talented group of engineers, managers, and executives with strong business, academic, and technology credentials. The company also added a top-flight technology advisory board and attracted technology investors such as NeoCarta Ventures, ARCH Venture Partners, and Madrona Venture Group. Today, Nimble Technology offers the Nimble Integration Suite, an innovative XML-based data integration platform. Nimble Integration Suite greatly simplifies the tasks of data integration to build web services and applications, including enterprise information portals, business intelligence systems and many others. It helps companies create a real-time unified view of disparate data from databases, data warehouses and non-relational data sources. Nimble Technology worked with a group of well-know companies as beta customers before delivering the first commercial release of the Nimble Integration Suite in the Fall of 2001.
