Muir Public Relations is a strategic communications firm well seasoned in public relations, public affairs and community relations. The firm has served a host of local, regional and national clients that include neighborhood associations, billion-dollar developers, software giants and local retail stores. Founded on the idea that work can be fun and that humor can be part of good promotion and effective education, Muir Public Relations creates colorful, flexible and creative campaigns. Jeanne Muir and Peg Marckworth co-own the corporation. Friends and colleagues for over 30 years, the two became partners in Muir Public Relations in 1998. They formed a tightly knit firm where they are able to take an active role in all client projects. Jeanne Muir has an MBA in Finance and Marketing. She founded the firm in 1992 after a 12-year management career with PACCAR, Inc., a Bellevue-based $4 billion firm that manufactures and finances class 8 trucks. Peg Marckworth has a 21-year career in communications. Prior to joining Muir Public Relations, Peg provided program development, community and public relations for Homebuilders, a social service agency known worldwide. She played a key role in creating a new model for educating families in crisis, now in use in ten countries with extraordinary success. Jeanne is very active in Seattle community organizations, including a variety of neighborhood business organizations. Peg is a volunteer and board member for a number of educational, recreational and social service organizations. Both Jeanne and Peg have served on the board of North Cascades Institute, which provides environmental education in the North Cascades watershed. Jeanne currently serves as Treasurer and Peg previously served as Chair of the Board. North Cascades Institute will open the $14 million North Cascades Environmental Learning Center in fall 2004, in partnership with Seattle City Light and the National Park Service.
