Our experience includes playfields, trails, boardwalks, public art installations, Chinese gardens, interpretation and signage and the enhancement of sensitive areas for public enjoyment and understanding. The Carkeek Park Improvement Project for the Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation exemplifies our expertise in public involvement with our ability to enhance environmentally sensitive areas, while providing recreational opportunities. J.A. Brennan has completed a number of successful waterfront and shoreline parks and recreation facilities, including the award-winning Herring's House Park and Terminal 105 Viewpoint Park in Seattle. J.A. Brennan is currently involved in the design of a pedestrian dock and two connecting parks on Bellingham's waterfront. J.A. Brennan developed the master plan and completed design details for the waterfront park and dock amenities. The firm provides imaginative urban planning and design services for streetscapes, transportation facilities, waterfronts, and campuses. J.A. Brennan led the design of an award winning downtown waterfront project for the City of Eureka, CA. The redevelopment project enhances tourism and economic opportunities for the waterfront and Old Town business district. We have extensive experience in the area of stream and wetland restoration and enhancement. Our experience includes site analysis, wetland plantings, fish habitat development, vegetation protection, and returning the stream/wetland to its natural condition. Other considerations include pedestrian and bicycle circulation, stream access, education and interpretation opportunities, and public involvement in the planning, design and construction processes. At the Chase Lake detention/wetlands facility in Snohomish County, we developed wetlands planting, wildlife habitat, trails, and interpretive signage for visitor information and education. Facilitating community involvement, coordinating volunteers, and incorporating user and owner input into our designs are areas in which J.A. Brennan excels. We enjoy working with property owners, local residents and community groups, as we consider their input important to obtaining end-product satisfaction. J.A.
