Riverport Railroad, LLC was established in 1999 at the site of the Historic Savanna Army Depot that officially closed in 2000. It was here that the Army built the original railroad in 1920 to interface with the mainline of the then "Chicago, Burlington, Quincy RR." Riverport Railroad serves the Tri-State Region of Northwestern Illinois, Southwestern Wisconsin and Eastern Iowa and is located at the center of many major markets in each state. With over 2,000 acres and more than 100 rail served warehouses and industrial buildings, the Riverport Railroad facility is an ideal site for economic development in the Tri-State region. This facility provides a positive economic impact to the Tri-State region.
