Golfplan has been providing golf course planning and architectural services worldwide since 1972. Ronald Fream, Golfplan's founding principal, began his career in golf course architecture in 1966 with Robert Trent Jones, Sr. After graduating from Washington State University in 1988, David Dale joined Golfplan where he was instrumental on a wide variety of projects, from Golf Disneyland Paris to the award-winning Club at Nine Bridges, in Korea. In 1999, following tenures at two prestigious golf course architectural and planning firms, Kevin Ramsey brought a fresh view to the Golfplan team. More recently, David and Kevin have combined their considerable experience to lead the Golfplan team in a new direction. The Golfplan team has provided golf course architectural services in more than 60 countries on six continents, under almost every imaginable climate and ecological situation. The Golfplan team's broad range of experience,from the garlic fields of Gilroy, California to the Pine Barrens of New Jersey; from standalone golf courses to thousand home communities; to the Arctic Circle in Finland to the tropical heat of Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand to the Sahara desert of Tunisia and Egypt,provides a unique foundation for design creativity and cost-effective architectural solutions. Combining this wide range of environmental, cultural and geographical experience with a strong university-educated team of professional architects, graphic artists, horticulturists, hydraulic and civil engineers, agronomists and construction specialists results in site-specific solutions that are unique and environmentally harmonious.
