"I originally joined Co-Opportunity and then ran for the board because I wanted to become more involved with, and give back to, a great organization that is actively engaged in making Santa Monica a better place. Co-Opportunity started as a small community of members that joined together to help address a need for healthy, natural and organic foods and products. In fulfilling this need, the Co-op's goals greatly exceed those of a typical store (i.e., making a profit). Co-opportunity operates in an environmentally and socially responsible way, and has become involved in Santa Monica in ways that go well beyond its simple purpose as a natural foods market. I volunteer my time as a Board member because I have great respect for the Co-op's mission, for its staff and its community of members and am interested in furthering the positive impact that Co-opportunity has in Santa Monica and beyond."
