The Central Coast Professionals (CCP) is a local job club that helps individuals with a professional, managerial, or technical background locate employment. Many club members have advanced degrees, years of experience, and are usually unemployed due to company mergers, business closures, contract cancellations or cutbacks in defense spending. The CCP members learn how to update their job search and interviewing skills, help each other by pooling their combined knowledge of the labor market and provide encouragement for one another throughout the job search process. CCP is affiliated with the Santa Maria Employment Development Department (EDD). The EDD supports the job club by providing a club coordinator and supplying the club with office space and equipment (computers, laser printer, telephones, fax and copier). Employers will find well-qualified job candidates within the CCP job club who have extensive experience in many disciplines.
