CR Minerals maintains a paint formulation and testing laboratory committed to helping customers make the transition to our health safe products. SafSil volcanic glass contains less than 0.1 percent respirable crystalline silica. With decades of paint experience and knowledge, the CR Minerals laboratory offers practical approaches to assist customers in paint reformulation. All work specific to a customer's formula is absolutely confidential. The Technical Director and the staff have worked with regional as well as national and international companies to convert many formulations to SafSil. In addition to the standard equipment for analysis of the physical properties of paints, such as viscosity, gloss and color, the CR Minerals' laboratory is equipped to perform pigment particle size analysis by the laser diffraction technique. Our particle size analysis has been used very successfully to help solve coatings properties problems that proved elusive by other techniques.
