Recognizing rapid growth in the area, the Bank once again joined forces with a strong, local banking presence, merging operations with Lompoc-based First Valley Bank in the first quarter of 1997. This strategic partnership added five new branches to the SBB&T family, in the communities of Los Olivos, Lompoc, Vandenberg Village, and Santa Maria. Today, Santa Barbara Bank & Trust delivers premier community banking from eight North County Branches which remain true to a unique set of operating principles and core values that differentiate the Company from other financial institutions, big and small. Following 35 years of financial success and strong customer support in its traditional markets, in 1995, the Bank introduced its exceptional brand of banking to customers in growing Ventura County, opening new branches in the cities of Camarillo, Oxnard and Ventura. Staffed by local, experienced banking professionals long familiar with the financial services needs and expectations of their friends and neighbors, these offices provided the personalized customer service that clearly distinguishes SBB&T from competing financial institutions. In 1997, Citizens State Bank of Santa Paula, which had successfully served the county's Santa Clara River Valley for over 70 years, merged with SBB&T. In 2000, the well-respected Los Robles Bank with offices in Camarillo, Thousand Oaks and Westlake Village joined the SBB&T Ventura County Region.
