The Pantry, Inc. (The Pantry or Pantry) operates an independently operated convenience store chain in the southeastern United States. As of September 27, 2007, Pantry operated 1,644 stores in 11 states under a number of selected banners including Kangaroo Express, its primary operating banner. The Company stores offer a selection of merchandise, gasoline and ancillary products and services. As of September 27, 2007, The Pantry operated 234 quick service restaurants within 222 of its locations. In 142 of these quick service restaurants, it offers products from nationally branded food franchises, including Subway, Quiznos, Hardee’s, Krystal, Church’s, Dairy Queen and Bojangles.
