In 1999, Layton was named Contractor of the Year by the American Subcontractors Association of Arizona and was nominated for Contractor of the Year by the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP). Layton Construction was founded in 1953 and provides design/build and construction services to public and commercial clients throughout the United States. For the past two decades, Layton has maintained a strong presence in the Southwest with offices in Phoenix and Salt Lake City. We are currently ranked 77th nationally in Engineering News Record. Our strengths are in design-build and CM@Risk, with work in the public and private sectors. Municipal work in Arizona totals $140 million including the Northeast Courts Complex and Maricopa County Old Courthouse renovation. Our landmark projects include Cibola Vista Resort and Spa, the first resort in the west valley in 75 years, Sky Harbor International's Rental Car Center, the largest project in Arizona and the $75 million Mesa Arts Center. Known as the MAC, this 205,600 sf postmodern project includes four theatres and spans seven acres in downtown Mesa.
