United Biochemicals was founded as Farmis, Inc. in 1996 by former employees of American Biorganics. Operating as a supplier of laboratory biochemicals and buffers, the company operated out of a 5000 square foot plant in Niagara Falls, New York. In 2002 the company began manufacturing Tris HCl as its primary product. A 23,000 square foot facility was built to house buffer manufacturing and sterile liquid formulation/filling suites. The company has since carved out a market niche as a producer of high quality biological buffer salts, amino acid derivatives, and manufacturer of liquid sterile filtered cell culture media and reagents. In 2004 the company broke ground on a 20,000 square foot sterile liquids manufacturing facility. This state of the art facility is dedicated to the manufacturing of antibiotic products and is completely segregated from all other product production. United Biochemicals serves a diverse group of customers. Our customers include distributors of laboratory research products, manufacturers of cell culture media and supplies, biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical companies, diagnostics manufacturers and research institutes. Our products are used primarily as components in cell culture media and in molecular biology research. United Biochemicals has recently finished outfitting a new sterile liquids manufacturing suite adjacent to our chemical manufacturing facility. This suite will be used to produce buffer solutions, cell culture media components, and balanced salt solutions. The addition of this suite will give the company the ability to fully leverage its expertise in buffer manufacturing to provide our customers with high quality solutions at a cost effective price.
