Info

Hackademia is a leading consultancy in employee security awareness and education. The company is focused on solving the employee security awareness challenge by blending three key ingredients: security best practices, behavioral psychology, and multimedia technologies. Our goal is to help organizations of all sizes to design and build affordable employee security awareness programs that meet the business and security goals of the organization. Based in the San Francisco East bay, the founder of Hackademia has helped improve the level of security awareness for millions of users. The company has delivered awareness training to audiences from a wide variety of organizations, from small businesses, law firms, and CPAs, to employees from Toyota, PG&E, Tiffanys, and Providian Financial. The company's founder was chosen by firewall leader Zone Labs to provide security education for more than 3 million computer users in 120 countries, and was later hired by Surf Control to develop its reseller training program. Hackademia has also been behind some of the world's most innovative security awareness campaigns, including the nation's first Cyber Security Day on November 4th 2002, and the creation of America's first Cyber Secure City, a unique experiment to raise the security awareness of an entire city. The company also developed the nation's largest identity theft awareness campaign for law enforcement, creating a web-based and CDROM training course in identity theft prevention that is now available free of charge to more than 16,000 law enforcement departments nationwide. The Hackademia team includes Neal O'Farrell, one of the world's most experienced security educators, and Barak Engel, former Director of Security at web conferencing leader WebEX.
