Phillip G. Edwards, President of Edwards Management Group, is an expert in the management procedures that are critical to success in a professional practice. He knows how to introduce improvements in a way that will maximize performance while retaining a firm's character and level of technical excellence. Mr. Edwards was the former head of the Financial Management Department at the Advanced Management Institute for Design Firms in San Francisco, California, where he taught Financial Management and Practice Management courses. For three years, Mr. Edwards was a facilitator for a national Chief Operating Officers Forum for the A/E industry. He is the author of "Financial Handbook for Design Firms" and is a popular speaker at professional organizations including the Professional Services Management Association, Association of Professional Design Firms, American Institute of Architects, American Institute of Graphic Arts, American Consulting Engineers Council, Society for Marketing Professional Services, Structural Engineers Association and the Consulting Engineers and Land Surveyors of California. Mr. Edwards has a B.S. in accounting and M.B.A. in finance with extensive studies in behavioral sciences. He was the past CFO and stockholder for a multi-discipline design firm headquartered in San Francisco. Sally Summers, Recruitment Services Director, has worked with the design industry for over fifteen years assisting them with the successful recruitment and selection of personnel. Sally has gained a reputation for her ability to analyze a firm's culture to hire the right people. This accompanied with her experience and knowledge of human resource issues makes her a valuable resource to our clients. Sally comes from a background of international marketing and recruitment which assists her in promoting each recruitment project in a unique way to reach the right audience and provide potentially qualified and talented candidates. Sally comments, "Finding the talent is just the first step, thorough screening is paramount, but the science is meshing the priorities of the candidates with the priorities of the firm. Sally attended business school in London, England and has taken human resource management classes through UC Berkeley and NCCHRA.
