TargeGen, Inc., formed in 2002, is a privately held biopharmaceutical company based in San Diego. The Company combines a focus on vascular biology with expertise in small molecule medicinal chemistry. TargeGen develops small-molecule multi target kinase inhibitors that act to reduce disease related vascular permeability changes and vascular proliferation. These fundamental processes are associated with a broad range of human diseases including heart attack, cancer and eye diseases (macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, diabetic retinopathy). Vascular leakage, edema and the unwanted growth of new blood vessels are also associated with other major health problems including pleural effusions, arthritis, pulmonary edema, transplant ischemia, ARDS, brain inflammation, hypovolemia (acute blood loss) CNS disorders and other serious medical conditions.
