BioLegend was incorporated in June, 2002. The founder and CEO of BioLegend, Gene Lay, D.V.M., who was also the co-founder of PharMingen, has extensive background in the research reagent business. Brad Kraft, Vice President of Business Development & Global Marketing and President, BioLegend International Division, has been involved in the biotechnology community for over 20 years. In 1988, Brad joined PharMingen as co-founder in charge of Marketing, Business and Corporate Development. Brad subsequently worked with numerous emerging biotech companies in the areas of corporate/business development, global strategy and marketing. Dr. Nan Jiang, Vice President of Operations, has over 15 years extensive experience in organic chemistry and protein chemistry both in academia and industry. Dr. Jiang was formerly the Process Development Manager at PharMingen. Xifeng Yang, M.D., Vice President of Cellular Analysis, has over 17 years research and development experience in the fields of immunology, hematology, and cell biology. Previously, Dr. Yang was a scientist at PharMingen for over 6 years. Kent Johnson, Chief Financial Officer and Nancy Huang, Vice President of International Sales and Marketing, bring a vast amount of knowledge and experience in biotechnology to BioLegend, each with over 10 years tenure with PharMingen. Additionally, BioLegend has a staff of highly experienced scientific and technical professionals who have extensive experience in the industry. BioLegend strives to provide quality research reagents and expert technical support to the scientific community worldwide. BioLegend is located in San Diego, in the midst of one of the nation's largest and fastest growing biotechnology areas.
