South Texas Money Management was founded in late 2000 by Jeanie Wyatt, CFA, when she left an executive position at Cullen/Frost Bankers, Inc., a large, publicly traded regional Texas bank (NYSE-CFR) to form her own company. She believed there was a great need in the marketplace for her approach to managing assets. The core of her philosophy of stock investment is buying both value and growth stock for the firm's portfolio. This allows investors to participate in market cycles set by value or growth, but with less volatility. The philosophy has worked well and the firm continues to grow and be recognized. South Texas Money Management was named a "Top Gun" by Informa Investment Solutions (IIS) in the 4-star category under IIS' Plan Sponsor Network (PSN) database in the peer group of Domestic All-Cap Core Equity Managers for the quarter ended December 31, 2006. South Texas Money Management has over $1.6 billion (as of 12/31/07) in assets under management and offers investment advisory services to individuals, trusts, estates, employee benefits plans, and endowments.
