Info
For over 120 years, Central Christian Church, San Antonio, has been a leader on the community, state and national levels. Our rich heritage is enhanced by the variety of denominational backgrounds our members bring to this congregation. We are a warm and loving family who support and strengthen each other; while reaching out to the larger community and the world through missions and service. The Christian development of each family member is important to us; our programs strive to include all ages in our activities. Central Christian Church is a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) denomination. The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is a mainline denomination, much like the Baptists and the Presbyterians. Disciples churches practice "open" communion every Sunday and accept transfers from churches with differing forms of baptism. More details are included in our "What We Believe" page, below. Central Christian Church is organized as one church, reaching out to the city of San Antonio in two locations with the good news of Jesus Christ. Our downtown campus has been serving San Antonio since 1883; our Stone Oak campus opened in 2000. Each location offers a unique ministry to its surrounding community.
