ZEVEX Inc. (NASDAQ NM: ZVXI) is a designer, manufacturer and distributor of medical devices including diagnostic and therapeutic systems, optoelectronic devices, ultrasonic sensors and surgical handpieces. For 15 years, the Company has been designing and manufacturing products for many of the world's leading healthcare companies which market them under their own labels or, in the case of the Company's component products, incorporate them into their products. In a strategic move to broaden the Company's technological core competencies in December 1998, ZEVEX acquired Aborn Electronics, which is an established developer and manufacturer of optoelectronic devices. In 2001, approximately one-half of ZEVEX's revenues are generated from its own proprietary products. In 1996, the Company established itself as a technology leader in the field of enteral nutrition delivery with its patented EnteraLite® ambulatory enteral feeding pump. In 2005 ZEVEX introduced its next-generation enteral feeding pump, the EnteraLite® Infinity®. Through the acquisition of two product lines in 1998 and 2000, ZEVEX now distributes a complete line of portable and stationary pumps, disposable sets and feeding tubes that are used in the delivery of enteral nutrition for patients in their own homes, in hospitals and in nursing homes.
