Description of Anomaly Vineyards
Anomaly Vineyards is located at the base of the western hills of California's Napa Valley in the small town of St. Helena (current population is 6,000). Anomaly specializes in the production of the highest-quality Cabernet Sauvignon. The first vintage of Anomaly, harvested in 1997, and made by us as "garagists," is currently available only for charity auctions. Buoyed by the success of the 1997 vintage, we embarked on the journey of obtaining a permit to produce estate Cabernet by building a small winery adjacent to the vineyard. And a "journey" it was! In the fall of 2000, a hard-fought battle with the City was won and a permit secured to build a stone winery with a 2000 square foot underground cave. Construction commenced in Spring 2001 and was completed in time for Harvest 2002. Our first release consisted of 300 cases and sold out immediately. Each subsequent release was a bi, more as more fruit from the vines became available, and our current release of the 2004 Vintage is 1,000 cases which will be our largest release to date and for the foreseeable future.
