Riverside Cemetery was founded in 1906 as a traditional cemetery to serve the Jewish Community in the New York Metropolitan area. Covering nearly 100 acres in Saddle Brook, New Jersey, the cemetery was designed as a formal park, with gently rising knolls, broad tree lined avenues, and interconnecting pathways. Riverside provides a country setting only 8 miles west of Manhattan. We have more than 60,000 gravesites on our grounds. Presently there are over 20,000 gravesites enrolled in our Perpetual Care landscaping program, and that number is constantly increasing. At the peak of our growing season we employ approximately 50 landscapers to tend to the care of the cemetery.
