Strategies for Change, formerly known as Chemical Dependency Center for Women was founded in 1978 under the name Women’s Stress Alternatives, with the original purpose of treating women addicted to prescription medications. It soon became apparent that addiction issues went beyond prescription abuse. Women’s Stress Alternatives evolved to become Chemical Dependency Center for Women. Since the early years, Chemical Dependency Center for Women established itself as a cornerstone within Sacramento’s recovery community, specializing in the treatment of women facing addiction.
