Capital Power has always strived to grow and change to match the needs of its members. When the time came, the credit union was allowed the opportunity to branch out and offer services to other employer groups in the Sacramento area. Companies such as Teichert and Sons, The Chinet Company and many other employer groups requested membership for their employees. To better represent our growing member base, in 1973 we changed our name to Capital Power Federal Credit Union. Over thirty years have passed, and since those simple beginnings Capital Power has grown in both membership and assets. Now the credit union currently serves over 5,500 members and has an asset base of $52 million. Our recent community charter has once more permitted us to grow and better serve our members. Today, Capital Power Credit Union may serve anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in the City of Sacramento. We may also serve all of our members' family. Our most recent venture has been in the area of Business Services. With tremendous enthusiasm, we hope to partner with small business owners, allowing them to do what they do best: run their business.
