(GBL) is a provider of investment advisory services to mutual funds, institutional and private wealth management investors, and investment partnerships, principally in the United States. Through Gabelli & Company, Inc., it provides institutional research services to institutional clients and investment partnerships. As of December 31, 2008, GBL had $20.7 billion of assets under management (AUM), of which 93% were in equity products. The Company conducts its investment advisory business principally through GAMCO Asset Management Inc. (Separate Accounts), Gabelli Funds, LLC (Mutual Funds) and Gabelli Securities, Inc. (Investment Partnerships). GBL also acts as an underwriter. GBL is a distributor of open-end mutual funds and provides institutional research through Gabelli & Company, Inc., its broker-dealer subsidiary.
