Carolina Barnes Capital Inc. is an investment banking group which has provided comprehensive corporate financial services during the past 13 years for companies involved in media, entertainment, telecommunications, and information services; maritime transportation; and real estate. Carolina Barnes engages in the placement of equity and debt securities, conducts valuation studies, structures and finances leveraged transactions, initiates and closes mergers and acquisitions, and arranges strategic partnerships. Carolina Barnes Capital had been active in brokerage activities since 1989 and was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission and the National Association of Securities Dealers. In 1998, the firm resigned its registration since the focus of its private activities no longer required such registration or membership. In certain circumstances, the firm participates as a principal in buyout transactions and private equity investments through its merchant bank, Carolina Barnes Corporation. The merchant bank was founded in 1985 and has participated in approximately three dozen transactions. The firm is quite simply a relationship banker.
