Here at RMC Health, we throw around acronyms such as CDC, DASH, ESEA, CSH, and many more. So I was intrigued recently reading about a couple of acronyms I had no idea about but which seemed to have a big impact on our daily lives. Last week SOPA and PIPA dominated the news. SOPA and PIPA stand for proposed legislation that represent censorship or copyright protection, depending on your view of the issue. To encourage defeat of SOPA and PIPA, several popular websites “went black,” encouraging internet users to rise up in a grassroots effort to contact their elected representatives. And it worked! The SOPA and PIPA sponsors withdrew those bills.
