Chesapeake Ford Truck Sales, Inc. was opened on April 1st 1967 by Albert Kleeman. The first trucks sold by our dealership were Ford Heavy Trucks. In the late 60's Ford was building the largest truck manufacturing plant in the world in Louisville, Kentucky, this plant, which is still in operation today, is known as KTP (Kentucky Truck Plant). KTP manufactured Ford Heavy Trucks for the entire United States and many foreign countries. Since our dealership opened in 1967 we have at various times obtained franchises to sell Freightliner, Mercedes and Iveco trucks. We currently sell Ford, Nissan and Sterling Heavy Trucks. Sterling Trucks is a division of Freightliner that was started in 1995 when Freightliner purchased Fords Heavy Truck Division. Chesapeake Ford is still owned by David and Steven Kleeman who are continuing to run the dealership in the tradition of customer service that was started over 40 years ago. In the last 40 years our dealership has grown to almost 70 employees. Several of the employees who started working here when we opened are still here today. We have expanded our services a great deal over the years and currently operate a Leasing Company as well at our dealership since 1985. Chesapeake Truck Leasing has over 100 daily rental trucks in operation in addition to over 100 long-term leasing customers. We also operate one of the largest Used Truck centers on the Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Virginia area; we have many used trucks in stock here at our dealership. Our Service Department is open until Midnight on weekdays and until 5 PM on Saturday to better accommodate our customers needs. We strive each and every day to help our customers in every possible way.
