The Burpee Museum of Natural History has been a Rockford, Ill., landmark and scientific educational center for more than sixty years. Established in 1941 as a WPA project, the museum houses several archeological and geological exhibits and provides educational programs for area students and teachers. The museum served more than 50,000 visitors last year, 20,000 of which were children on school tours.
