Ridgway Powdered Metals Inc
Info
Ridgway Powdered Metals Inc. (RPM) is one of approximately 40 powdered metal manufactures in North Central Pennsylvania, the "powder metal capital of the world". RPM was formed in 1978 in Ridgway Pennsylvania. In 1985 an 8,000 square foot production facility was constructed on 5 acres, 2 miles east of Ridgway on Route 120. An existing 3,200 square foot building on the site was used as RPM's offices. In 1994 RPM acquired the equipment of United Sintered Alloys Inc. located in St. Marys, Pennsylvania. In June of 1995 a 6,000 square foot plant addition was constructed and a new 18-inch furnace was added. In September 1995, another 6,000 square foot addition was added to accommodate the acquisition of Capital Sintered Metals Inc. In January 1993 the original founders sold to a group of investors, who in turn sold the Company to Edward Pangersis in 1998. RPM currently operates in a 33,000 square foot facility, with 30 plus employees, 33 compacting presses and 7 furnaces. RPM is in a growth mode due to the current under utilization of its equipment and facility. RPM produces structural parts from various types of powder including, but not limited to, iron, bronze, copper, brass, nickel, tin and stainless steel.
