Sunny has owned and operated Sunny Goode Decorative Arts in Richmond, Virginia, since 1992. After graduating from Hollins College in 1990, she apprenticed under Nancy Baker in Washington D.C. Throughout the years Sunny has been a student at the Isabel O'Neil School for the art of the painted finish in New York City. She also studied art on the University of Georgia abroad program in Cortona, Italy in the summer of 1989. Over the past 12 years, Sunny has applied custom colored finishes in over 1000 homes and businesses, using a multitude of application techniques and styles. Her specialty is color creation. Her clientele rely on the magic of the custom-made paint and application techniques to bring together the existing fabrics, furnishings, and feel of the residence. Many of the application techniques are complicated and require a trained hand with many years of experience. However, some techniques such as color washing, striping, and antiquing can be done easily with the right type of paint. One of the keys to Sunny's success has been her insistence on making her own glazes, washes, and paints by hand from scratch for each and every customer's different needs. Sunny has formulated a line of color washes, glazes, and antiquing glazes with her most sought after colors. Sunny's Goodtime Paints, Inc. is a complete decorative painting system. Sunny has created a product that is easy to use, pre-mixed, pre-tinted, and ready to "Shake, Dip and Go!." One can covers a whole room (400-500sq feet). Sunny's Goodtime Paints are water based for easy clean up and are non-toxic.
