Maymont often serves as a location for professional photography and film productions. The CBS miniseries, Sally Hemings: An American Scandal, Dreamworks' The Contender, Disney's First Kid and numerous commercials are among the projects filmed on Maymont's grounds. Maymont also offers many beautiful backdrops for bridal, family and senior portraits. Maymont welcomes the use of its grounds for photography, but reservations and payment are required for special photography and videography including films, commercials, advertisements, and portraits. Brides using Maymont for their weddings have permission to use the gardens, free of charge, for their portraits, but must make a reservation.
