Founded in 1936, the Richmond Art Center is the most established, private non-profit community art center in the Bay Area and one of the most exciting and innovative visual arts organizations in California. Its 25,000 square foot facility, located in Richmond's Civic Center Plaza, houses 6,000 square feet of gallery space and six well-equipped studios arranged around a sculpture courtyard. Programs include the On-Site Art Education program, offering courses and workshops in the areas of Ceramics, Painting, Drawing, Textiles and Jewelry/Metal Arts for adults and children; Art Reach, which is comprised of artist residencies in regional schools, an exhibition tour program, and professional development opportunities; and exhibitions focusing on emerging to mid-career Bay Area artists. Richmond Art Center is managed by a 14-person board of directors and a ten-person staff including an Exhibitions Director and Education Director. www.therichmondartcenter.org. QUALIFICATIONS: Advanced degree in related field required with at least 5 years progressive management experience, including fundraising and marketing, strongly desirable. Familiarity with the Bay Area funding community and community advocacy experience a plus.
