Info

Energy Northwest is a joint operating agency (JOA) comprised of 19 member public utilities from across the state. We are governed by two boards: a Board of Directors and an Executive Board. Our Board of Directors includes representatives from member utilities, while the Executive Board includes representatives from member utilities, appointees by the governor and public representatives selected by the Board of Directors itself. We operate four electricity generating stations , Columbia Generating Station, Packwood Lake Hydroelectric Project, Nine Canyon Wind Project, and the White Bluffs Solar Station , and provide operations and maintenance services for other facilities, such as the H.W. Hill Landfill Gas Power Plant in Klickitat County and the Franklin County PUD and Grays Harbor PUD CT Generating Facility. In addition, our Energy/Business Services organization is busy exploring other sources for generating power, such as wind farms, solar panels, and biomass. We are a sales affiliate of Hometown Connections, offering a suite of services for utilities assembled by the American Public Power Association. The Pacific Northwest , especially Washington State , has widely supported public power and its various endeavors for nearly seven decades. This decades-long tradition of strong citizen and political support mirrors the region,s approval of publicly owned utilities, including Energy Northwest.
