Cost Less Carpet was born in Pasco, WA in 1993. In 1994, we added a store in Boise, ID. In 1999, we opened a store in Hermiston, OR. In 2000, we opened our first superstore, and headquarters, in Richland, WA. We also added a store in Moses Lake, WA that same year. In 2006 a store was added in Walla Walla, WA. In 2007, we will open another one in Columbia Falls, MT. We started with an idea that was totally foreign to the floor covering industry at the time - instead of just buying product as you "special order" it, and being at the mercy of the manufacturer for pricing, we buy product in large quantities. This gives us the leverage to dictate to the manufacturer what we will pay. We ship by the truckload and sell by the pallet load, so our freight rates are lower. We have low overhead, because we operate and sell out of our warehouses, so we do not have to maintain glitzy and costly showrooms. When you combine all of these factors, it means lower prices for you, the customer. We purchase a vast array of products from all points of the globe direct from the factory, so you know you're getting the absolute, rock bottom price. Our growth and added locations have dramatically increased our buying power. In fact, in some cases, we sell products to customers at a lower price than our competitors can buy them at. We are in a position now that the manufacturers realize that we are a serious force, and a high volume account. This means that not only do we buy our stock at the lowest prices, but we also have the lowest cost on products that we special order.
