Binary Systems, Inc. was originally founded in 1977 in New Orleans, LA. and was briefly known as Electro-Fab. BSI developed embedded control and communication systems for the petrochemical industry. Many of these SCADA systems used early versions of digitized ADPCM voice to annunciate alarm messages over telephone networks.
