Broadway Dance Project is a dance studio dedicated to the professional training of its students. The school is owned by Catrina Godwin and was founded by William Jones, Executive Producer of "The North Carolina Theatre" and "Kids on Broadway." Broadway Dance Project (BDP) was started with the idea of training dancers that could compete at the highest level. The attitude at BDP is to give the student every opportunity and advantage to achieve the ultimate goal as a dancer, be it on the Broadway stage or a member of a professional dance company. With those ideas in mind, we take a different approach to our training. There are no recitals or competitions. Our belief is that they are geared toward a short-term goal. Anyone can work on a combination for nine months and look great. But in a dance audition, you are required to learn the combination in a matter of moments. Therefore we teach our students new combinations each month. And obviously we put the highest regard on technique. Broadway Dance Project is an excellent environment for someone to learn how to be a dancer. We encourage everyone to feel what it is like to really want something and to work hard to achieve that goal. Don't forget, we're now in our new studio! Click here for new pictures.
