Info

Artsplosure's mission is to produce high quality annual festivals that celebrate excellence in the performing and visual arts; to promote and bring recognition to national, regional, and local artists; and to bring artists and the larger community together to improve the quality of life and cultural environment. Artsplosure's vision is that all people will have access to a better quality of life and an enhanced cultural environment. Artsplosure programs -- First Night Raleigh, Artsplosure Spring Art Festival, and Arts Education and Outreach -- are premised on the following values: The arts are for everyone. Every person possesses the creative impulse and, in a supportive environment, he or she will act positively on that impulse. Unique, accessible, and centrally located venues will increase and diversify participation. Artsplosure festivals are celebratory, civic, and ritualistic. They provide people with unifying and community-building occasions. Artsplosure festivals are critical entry points for life-long arts participation for young people and their parents. Artsplosure program goals are to offer viable opportunities for artists and cultural organizations -- whose work meets established criteria of excellence -- to have their work seen and appreciated by large, diverse audiences. Artsplosure programs affirm the intrinsic value of the arts and their important contribution to the city's high quality of life, economic prosperity, civility, social well-being, and future prospects. Artsplosure is committed to strengthening its services to artists and citizens by: Collaborating with its fellow arts presenters and major cultural institutions. Creating meaningful volunteer service opportunities. Emphasizing outreach and interactive programs.
