The Center for Health Equity provides a unique venue to participate in research, public service and teaching that is both community-based and focused on the timely issue of disparities in health. The Center maintains a spotlight on community development and capacity building in order to enable communities to effectively develop, implement and evaluate health programs. The Center emphasizes collaboration with communities to identify, understand and raise awareness about disparities in health and the conduct of research to identify, prevent and eliminate the root causes of disparities in health.
