Putnam Supermarket formerly known as Weiss Supermarket has been in the food business since 1930. The business was owned and operated by the Weiss brothers until the year 1984 when the ownership changed. The new owner Jay Sinha named the store Putnam Supermarket to give it a hometown touch. Putnam Supermarket conveniently located at the corner of Providence Street and Church Street has been satisfying the food needs of Northeast Connecticut for about 67 years. It has a wide variety of grocery, meat, dairy and frozen, produce, Deli and Bakery and Health and Beauty Items. We have hundreds of weekly specials, instore promotions and super savers every week. We also provide lottery tickets, postage stamps, and Town of Putnam trash bag stickers for the convenience of our customers. Putnam Supermarket strongly believes in personal service and community support.
