Stone Laboratory, Ohio State University’s Island Campus on Lake Erie, offers 30 science courses each summer for undergraduate and graduate students, advanced high school students, and educators. The hands-on introductory and upper-level classes get students out in the field to study courses like biology, geology, ecology, and herpetology. Stone Lab is the nation’s oldest freshwater biological field station, serving as a base for more than 65 researchers from 12 agencies and academic institutions, all working year-round to solve the most pressing problems facing the Great Lakes.
