Dorcas Place was incorporated in 1981 as a private non-profit adult literacy and learning center and serves more than 400 students in nine education programs and classes each year. Dorcas Place provides classroom instruction and one-on-one tutoring, from basic literacy through GED level with transition to post secondary education; work readiness skills training, career counseling, job placement and mentoring support; supportive social services counseling and referrals; and life management and parenting skills instruction and counseling.
