Founded in 2001, Calvert Healthcare Solutions (CHCS) brings together local physicians, the Calvert County Department of Social Services (DSS), the Health Department, and Calvert Memorial Hospital (CMH) to form an organization providing primary health care to uninsured Calvert County adults. Services provided include private medical office visits, basic x-ray and laboratory tests and help with the cost of generic medications. CHCS offers low-cost primary health care (participants pay $15 for office visits) and generic drugs at a discount. Medical services are provided by local doctors and prescription discounts are available through local pharmacies including Safeway, Giant, and the Family Meds Pharmacy.
