Verksted Gallery

Info
The Verksted Gallery is one of the oldest cooperative art galleries in the state of Washington, and was established in 1987 by two local artists, Mary Heffner and Elizabeth Haney. Ms. Heffner is still an artist in the gallery, and enjoys sharing her watercolors and "whimsical" calligraphy with customers from around the world. While visiting our site, be sure to take a Gallery Tour, and make plans to visit one day. You're sure to be amazed at the variety of art created by such a fine selection of artists from the area. On this site you'll find watercolors, silver jewelry, photography, textile art, painted rocks, pottery, Norwegian bentwood boxes, oil paintings, mixed media paintings, colored pencil work, Polaroid image transfers, wood turned pieces, Rosemaling, felt art, stained glass, pastels, porcelain dolls, woven wheat, and much more! Verksted Artists are considered "members" of the gallery and help to run day-to-day operations, including complete management of the gallery and many hours on the floor. You're sure to meet an artist when you visit, and you may even find someone demonstrating their handy-work in the store. Each month we feature several artists in a special display, so visitors can stay up to date with new works. Because of the wonderful family-style atmosphere and low overhead, Verksted is well known for reasonable prices and incredible values for original hand-crafted artwork. Our famous Cookbook "Lutefisk and Beyond II" is now available by mail. You're sure to enjoy the many tried-and-true recipes from over 40 Verksted Gallery artists, so print out the order form and mail it in today! Located in Poulsbo Washington, the Verksted Gallery is just a short trip from Seattle that includes a beautiful ferry ride and a short, scenic drive through Bainbridge Island. Poulsbo is a quaint Norwegian waterfront community that offers a surprising variety of shops, arts, recreational opportunities and restaurants. Stroll down Front Street and enjoy the sights and sounds of "Little Norway" on your escape, which must include a stop at the Verksted Gallery in the heart of Historic Downtown Poulsbo.
