Dr. Hammill attended college and medical school at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, graduating with a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering in 2002 and completing medical school in 2004.  He completed his General Surgery training at the University of Hawaii in 2009, and subsequently completed a 2-year Hepatobiliary and Pancreas Surgery fellowship at Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, Oregon.  During his fellowship training he also obtained a Masters of Clinical Research through Oregon Health and Science University.
