The Portage Area Historical Society operates the Portage Station Museum in Portage PA to tell the story of life in the area. It is a Welcome Center for the Portage Gateway of the Allegheny Ridge Heritage Park. Explore the Rail-Trail along the former Martin Branch of the railroad. We discover, collect, and preserve any material which may help establish or illustrate the history of the area. Our Museum building is a 1926 Pennsylvania Train Station, renovated, and we welcome tours, senior citizens, classrooms, and make special arrangements by calling 814-736-9223.
