Pompano Beach, Fla.) - Roepnack Corporation, one of South Florida's largest general contractors, recently was awarded a $2.5 million contract to renovate the new Maroone Automotive Training Center at Broward Community College's Miramar campus. The facility is the largest automotive training facility in South Florida and was initiated by the South Florida Auto/Truck Dealers Association and a growing need for highly-trained technicians. Renovations to the more than 30,000-square-foot facility include the creation of about 24,000 square feet of classrooms, an automotive lab, a showroom and office space. The South Florida Auto/Truck Dealers Association will maintain an office at the center to provide on-site accessibility for students to highlight industry issues, events and opportunities. High speed wireless Internet access, 21st Century diagnostic equipment and computer-aided systems will be featured at the facility. Roepnack is partnering with Cartaya & Associates Architects, P.A. on the project, which is being managed by the team of Bob Roepnack, CEO of Roepnack Corporation, as senior project manager, Don Owen as project manager, Ken Roberts as general superintendent, and Kevin MacDonald as superintendent. Broward Community College is the first and largest institution of higher education in Broward County, and serves more than 60,000 students annually. The college has more than 40 years experience in work force development and will be administering the program at the training center. Recognized for its excellence in automotive technology and systems, the college has committed more than $2 million to equip and prepare the new facility. Founded in 1968, Roepnack Corporation has completed more than $100 million in construction projects in the last five years.
