Safeway Inc. is a food and drug retailers in North America. During the fiscal year ended December 29, 2007 (fiscal 2007), the Company had 1,743 stores. The Company’s United States retail operations are located principally in California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Colorado, Arizona, Texas, the Chicago metropolitan area and the Mid-Atlantic region.
