Maison Jomere, Ltd. was created by Paul Davis in January of 1980 as a small specialty wine import company specializing in French and German wines. Maison Jomere is now over 25 years old and many changes have taken place both within the industry and within our company itself. As with most industries, there has been a great deal of consolidation leaving less and less distributors in each market. As this consolidation continues it has become obvious that in order for a small to medium import company to survive, we must bring new and innovative products to the market. As a result Maison Jomere has completely renovated its portfolio of products along with creating a specialty spirits division. We also have become part of the 21st century with the addition of our critically acclaimed organic spirits. We have recently entered an agreement for our Organic Spirits to be one of the sponsors of the hit television show, TASTE THIS TV with CHEF JOSEPH CIMINERA. In January 2000, Maison Jomere introduced Juniper Green Organic London Dry Gin the world's first organic gin. It's bottled in very small batches in London's only distillery and is hand crafted in two of the smallest stills in Europe. In fact stills carry the names of Tom Thumb and Thumbelina (a little British humor). In 2000 at the International Wine & Spirit Challenge held in the United Kingdom judged JUNIPER GREEN the world's finest gin. In 2001 we introduced UK5 Organic Vodka and both products were entered in the prestigious International Spirits Challenge and both products took first place in their respective divisions. Since then, we have won many awards (visit our awards page on the Juniper Green page) with JUNIPER GREEN winning gold medals in both the International Wine & Spirits Challenge, The Beverage Institute of Chicago tasting and was given the Best Spirit Award by the British Soil Association. In fact we have medaled each year since the produced were first produced in 1999 in London. In January 2003, we introduced Papagayo the world's first organic spiced rum. PAPAGAYO Organic Spiced Rum is indeed one of the most unique spirits produced in the world today. Mr. Christopher Parker, Managing Director of the Organic Spirits Co. in London found an organic sugar cane plantation in Paraguay, spoke to the owner of this property and arranged to purchase the entire production in order to produce PAPAGAYO. As with the UK5 and the JUNIPER GREEN the spirit produced is incredibly smooth because there are no harsh yeasts used in the fields. Of course this also has a positive effect on the soil and the water your drink since there are no harsh chemicals entering our streams, rivers or lakes.
