Asiana Airlines was founded in February 1988 as an affiliate of the Kumho Asiana Group, one of the leading conglomerates in the Republic of Korea which specialises in a diversity of sectors ranging from life insurance, investment banking, tyre manufacturing, transportation, petrochemical supplies, construction, resorts, amusement parks, car rental, and mecena activities. Asiana operates a fleet of 59 aircraft to 15 destinations across Korea and 70 cities worldwide. Asiana is also a member of the Star Alliance.
