Spumoni's was founded on a few basic principals developed by Papa George, who came to America back in 1916. Papa George understood that a mealtime spent with family and friends was more than just a routine daily activity. It was an occasion! He taught us to treat our guests as family and friends, not only because it was good business but because it was the best way to enjoy and experience life in a family restaurant enterprise. Papa George loved the restaurant profession and he taught his family to love it too. Papa George had a passion for freshness. He explained to us the importance of using the freshest ingredients and shared with us his wealth of knowledge in the quest to find the freshest, highest quality food available at a reasonable cost. Twenty years ago, Papa George's son George was off at sunrise or before, down to the fish market to get first crack at the daily catch, and the very best hard-shell lobsters. Meanwhile, son-in-law Carroll would be over at the Farmer's Market finding the choicest produce and quality cuts of meat to serve at the restaurant. Not much has changed over the years; Spumoni's remains uncompromising when it comes to serving dishes prepared with the finest and freshest ingredients.
